Foot, ankle and lower limb pain
Ankle pain, foot pain and “lower leg” problems are extremely common and vary in nature. We continuously diagnose and treat many problems of this nature following thorough examination.
Like the knee joint, the ankle is vulnerable to several types of injury – your ankle pain may be caused by any number of activities from stepping off a kerb, to playing football, cricket or any other sporting activity – the ankle takes a great deal of strain and therefore injuries occur very regularly.
In general the ankle joint is surrounded by ligaments and tendons – it doesn’t have the luxury of being supported by strong muscles. Hence the familiarity we have with these particular injuries.
If you have hurt your ankle it may swell up, become bruised and painful and you may find it difficult to put weight on it. If this is the case or it becomes the case then one of our specialists will be more than willing to give you a thorough examination to help determine the cause of your pain. Then we will work towards finding the best treatment possible to get you fit and pain free once again.
In general it is advisable to follow our simple R.I.C.E programme as a precursor to getting professional treatment from our physiotherapists.
