General Benefits of Physiotherapy

How can physiotherapy help?

Physiotherapy can help with most painful musculo-skeletal conditions.  Physiotherapy aims to reduce pain and help you return to whichever activities you are struggling with (for example, work, chores or sport).  If you are referred to us, a physiotherapist will perform a detailed assessment and diagnose the cause of your problem and discuss with you how to improve your symptoms.  Usually this will entail performing an exercise programme at home, but treatment may also include other treatments such as manual therapy (where the physiotherapist helps to mobilise the joint) or acupuncture when appropriate.  For some conditions we offer specialist rehabilitation groups, which your physiotherapist will refer you to if appropriate.   Listed below are some of the most common conditions we treat.  If you feel that physiotherapy could help you, speak to your GP or consultant who can arrange a referral to us.
